well guys I made it. I never thought this day would come but here I am typing to you from my twin size bed in a cold, but highly decorated room. my roommate and I have taken the great privilege of decorating our room with several pillows and tapestries to give it that homie feel. and an excuse to take advantage of our first chance at independent living. we have our coffee k cups, ramen, and microwavable mac and cheese stalked up and of course we have already gone through two tubs of Nutella. I now understand how freshman 15 is very easy to obtain. so far its been a mix of hard and easy. easy because well I have two-three classes a day and I have WAYY too much free time. hard because nobody is here to baby you or make life easier on you. if you want something done you have to do it yourself. and on the days where I really really have no motive to do anything I thank the Lord for his motivation flowing through my veins. theres so much temptation around you. the cussing, the parties, you see your friends changing and going in a different direction than you. and so far the best advice I have for that comes from Romans 12:2, the oh so famous verse, "don't conform to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." your friends will change in college from the very second you arrive. some will grow and blossom into amazing beautiful people, and some will not. in the end its not for us to judge them or think of them differently. we don't need to dictate whether what they do is bad or good. because you have no control over that. but you can control what you do. sink or swim? you don't have to go along with your friends and do what they do just to stay their friend. you are your own person and you have all ability in the world to make your own choices and make your own decisions. and you are not on this earth to please people you are here to please God. you are not here to sink with the choices your flesh makes. you are here to swim with the plans God has in store for you. you are amazing and Jesus loves you. joyfully yours grace
